Cadillac continued production of the Eldorado in the early sixties more for its image than its profits. The Seville coupe was dropped and probably the only reason convertible sales increased was that people who would have bought a coupe had to buy the convertible instead. The new styling of the car included disposing of all the chrome and surplus trim that made the Eldorados stand out in the past which made the new model look rather plain. Aesthetically this was an advantage as the Eldorado became more and more elegant as time went by.

1971 saw the introduction of the second generation front-wheel drive land cruiser coupes and convertibles. Recognisable by the pinched waist and decorative vertical scoop behind the doors, the 1971 Eldorado had certain features of fifties styling.

This white convertible with white hood and interior had one owner in America before coming to England four years ago. It has been re-sprayed, but otherwise the car is in good, original condition. An owners manual is available and there is a current MoT test certificate.
