INDENT Lieutenant Robert Emslie was awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal for rescuing from drowning another member of his Company, Private K.G. Anderson, when bathing in a river in South Africa. For bringing in some wounded Cameron Highlanders at Givenchy, December, 1914, he was recommended for an award, and when a Russian Cross of St George was allotted to the 1st Bde this was conferred on him; commissioned 12.9.1915 and became Transport Officer to 1st Battalion London Scottish; Lieutenant 3.5.1917; his name last appears in the Army List in October 1921
