8° (215 x 127mm). Hand-coloured engraved frontispiece and title, 100 hand-coloured etched and engraved plates. (Occasional light spotting, plates 6 and 34 just trimmed at outer edge, plate 75 with clean tear to lower outer corner affecting one line of caption, without loss.) Modern half mottled calf. Provenance: F. H. L. Koss (signature dated 1817).
Second edition of Duke's treatise: the first was published in two volumes in 1740. The present edition was sold in both coloured and uncoloured states, costing 15s and 5s respectively.
