Half-titles, folding aquatint frontispiece by Legrand after F. N. König, titles with engraved vignette, folding lithographic map by Selves fils, 25 plates comprising 29 aquatint views on 21 leaves by Legrand after König, Lory and others, and 8 engraved depictions of costumes on 4 leaves. (Occasional spotting, mainly to text.) Contemporary calf-backed boards, spines gilt in five compartments. Provenance: Le Commandant Nicolas de Muller (armorial bookplate). Second edition, but the first illustrated, apparently complete in two volumes, although Lonchamp 2401 calls for a third volume of letters written in 1824 and 1825, and published by Nepveu and Froment in 1826.
