Uncoloured aquatint dedication and 308 hand-coloured aquatint plates with grey wash borders, by and after Daniell, ON CARD, mounted on guards, with the separately published folding uncoloured aquatint map. (Lacking the uncoloured engraving, very slight occasional spotting and staining.) Modern green half morocco, spines in six compartments, t.e.g., by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. Provenance: George Haynes (inscription on titles of volumes I-VI).
A FINE COPY WITH THE PLATES PRINTED ON CARD, without the uncoloured plate Kemaes Head but including the rarely found, separately published map ("Index Chart to the Voyage..."). The titles of volumes IV-VI bear the pencilled ?signature "W. Daniell" in a 19th-century hand. Tooley claims that only 25 sets were issued with the plates on card. Tooley 177; Abbey Scenery 16. (8)
