Lot Essay

Pierre-Eugène-Emile Hébert (d.1893), a Parisian sculptor, exhibited in the Salons from 1846 to 1893. One of his most important works Le Fil de la Vierge is the original model of the present silvered figure ('Eil' should read 'Fil').
