Lot Essay

Originally designed by John Norton for Christie's in 1865 as a speculation, and to secure a back door, No. 11 Ryder Street became Dieudonne's Hotel and Restaurant. In 1895 C.P. Guffanti took it over after being for many years the Eccentric Club, it re-opened last year as Christie's Ryder Street Saleroom.
