A 19TH CENTURY UNOFFICIAL PATTERN ROYAL NAVAL FLAG-OFFICER'S HALF BASKET HILT SWORD BY WILKINSON
the 31½in. blade finely etched on alternate sides with the Royal cypher and a fouled anchor, the initials 'WA', a faint makers mark and stamped '1224' on the ridge, the gilt brass hilt with laurel wreath around the crown and a foul anchor, wire-bound fishskin grip backed by lion's mask pommel with full mane, with leather scabbard bound with detailed gilt brass rings and end incorporating an oak leaf motif -- 37½in. (95.2cm.) in total
