AN OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE IMPERIAL GERMAN NAVY, BELIEVED SURRENDERED AT SCAPA FLOW
with slightly curved 32¾in. steel blade etched with foliate motifs, a foul anchor and an advancing battleship under steam, the brass hilt with oak and acorn decoration throughout, the thumb guard engraved Rohrbeck 1919, stamped by quillon 'S.S. GESCH', wire bound ivory grip the lion's mask with red and green brilliants set in the eyes, brass ended leather scabbard with suspension loops -- 39in. (99cm.) Museum plaque with legend; together with an R.N. black gripped stirrup hilted example (blade rusted, no scabbard, old damage and wear) -- 31in. (79cm.) long, museum label attached
