A RARE POCKET WATCH-FORM SILVER FOB COMPASS BY DOLLAND, CIRCA 1816, WITH IRISH FAMINE-RELATED INSCRIPTION
the 1½in. dia. enamel dial signed Dollond London either side of sixteen-point rose, steel needle, concave glazing, sprung cover engraved outside Presented by the Rt. Honble. Lady Carbery. TO Mr. JAMES MORLEY. C.G.O. as a token of esteem for his exertions among the poor Fishermen of Rathbarry, during the famine. MAY 15th, 1848., chain loop with release button -- 2¼in. (5.6cm.) high
