A dress worn by Celeste Holm as she portrayed Karen Richards in the Academy Award winning film. Made of an eggplant-colored lightweight wool with an elaborate multi-tiered pink and purple sash around the waist, Holm is attired in this piece during the opening scene when she first encounters Eve, as portrayed by Anne Baxter, in the alleyway behind the theatre. A cloth tag in the interior lining reads Celeste Holm A-597-22 and a black and white wardrobe still showing her modeling the dress is included.
