Lot Essay

George Wright was an accomplished painter of hunting, coaching and polo scenes. Until 1925, he collaborated with his brother, Gilbert, and many of these early works were used for calendar illustrations. From 1925 he was under contract to Arthur Ackermann & Son, Ltd., to paint sporting subjects.
