DELAMARCHE Paris Rue Serpente [c.1850]
A 3½-inch (8.9cm.) diameter terrestrial pocket globe made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and Paris meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, Antarctica with mostly projected coastline, the continents in yellow, with Africa coloured blue, and showing rivers and cities, Tasmania labelled as such (old abrasions and discolouration under new varnish, with loss of detail), with steel axis pins in a turned mahogany box with domed lid with flat knop -- 4½in. (11.4cm.) high
