A 1 5/8-inch (4cm.) diameter miniature terrestrial globe made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores, the equatorial ungraduated, the ecliptic graduated but unlabelled, the oceans showing Cooks Reise um die Erde 1777, the continents delicately outlined in yellow or orange, Africa shaded green, Australia shaded yellow, Tasmania labelled V. Diemens l., the Antarctic with little coastline, but showing Enterby Land, the painted brass meridian circle divided in four quadrants on one side, the painted brass horizon ring variously graduated with information in German, supported by four brass legs terminating in bun feet, united by brass stretchers supporting a circular metal plate -- 2 3/8in. (6cm.) high
