A 12-inch (30.5cm.) diameter terrestrial globe timepiece, made up of twelve chromolithographed gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees but labelled only with applied numbers 1-24 (21 missing), the prime meridian graduated in degrees but unlabelled, the ecliptic not shown, the oceans showing numerous details including an analemma, ocean currents, aviation routes and steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure, the Antarctic with complete coastline, the continents with nation states variously and brightly coloured and showing towns, cities, rivers, railway lines and aviation routes, Leningrad and Ethiopia shown, Somalia labelled as Italian (some discolouration, some darkened scratches) with a flat brass star-shaped finial, raised on the brass drum housing the clockwork mechanism and with a shaped brass index to read off the equatorial hours, on a short turned brass and ebonised cast iron plinth base, with key -- 17¾in. (45cm.) high
