Hatters. Lot Essay

The trademark trenchcoat and hat of Inspector Clouseau were worn by Peter Sellers throughout the series of Pink Panther films and there would have been several hats and coats for each production. The hat included in this lot, although similar to those seen in The Return Of The Pink Panther, 1974, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, 1976 and The Revenge Of The Pink Panther, 1978, is not identical, implying that although purchased for use in the film, this hat is not seen in the final versions.
