A rare Peacock teddy bear
with golden mohair, pronounced clipped muzzle, broad head with large cupped ears, orange and black glass eyes, black stitched horizontal nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed limbs with felt pads, squeaker and red and white label on left foot --26½in. (67.5cm.) high, 1930s (slight wear to tummy and other minor wear)

Lot Essay

Peacock and Sons was established in 1853, they were bought by Chad Valley in 1931. This bear is probably made by Chad Valley under the Peacock name.
