Lot Essay

Dr. Hinrich Sieveking has kindly confirmed the attribution to Schnorr von Carolsfeld, and notes the resemblance between this figure and those developed for Schnorr's wall-paintings at the Residenz in Munich illustrating the Nibelungen legend.
