8o. Frontispiece portrait. Original green cloth, gilt-lettered on front cover and spine (tear to spine, hinges cracked). Provenance: Myra Kingsley (presentation inscription in pencil from Keller on front free endpaper ) -- Gale ?Wrangle (signature dated 1940 above Keller's inscription).

Later edition, PRESENTATION COPY, WITH A VERY FINE INSCRIPTION BY KELLER TO MYRA KINGSLEY: "Fate bound my eyes and closed my ears to all glad things in the outer world; but when my soul learned to look within I found in my own heart a place of wind and flowers, full of sweet trees and color of all glad things. Lovingly Helen Keller Nov. 19, 1918." An unusually lengthy inscription in Keller's characteristic large, rectilinear hand.
