A Minton majolica teapot and cover
Year cypher for 1876, impressed mark, shape 622
Modelled as a flat iron, each side moulded with a frieze of mice and flowerheads on a cobalt-blue ground between brown-glaze sections, the cable handle moulded with a white cat, the blue ground cover with a finial formed as a seated mouse holding a root (the handle broken with associated chips with a riveted repair, small chips to spout, chips to mouse ears, nose and the tip of the root vegetable)
7¾in. (19.5cm.) high
