Hélène Leloup (Dogon Statuary, Strasbourg, 1994) discusses the style of these carvings which she categorises as N'duleri, found in the centre of the Bandiagara Plateau pp.165-166 and illustrates a similar maternity from the Dapper Museum Pl.118
