A HUANGHUALI SQUARE SEAL BOX, YINXIANG
Early 17th century
The flat-topped domed lid opening to reveal a removable tray, the tall sides of the square box above the wider base with a front cusped apron, with ruyi-shaped mounts at the top corners, rectangular mounts at lid and base corners, and lotus leaf-shaped lockplate, hasp, bail handles, and restraining chain all of huangtong
6½in. (16.5cm.) high, 5½in. (13.9cm.) wide, 5½in. (13.9cm.) deep
