Lot Essay

This print originates from the collection of Dorothy Wheelock, an editor of Harper's Bazaar from 1940-1957. Working with Carmel Snow, Editor-in-Chief, and Alexey Brodovitch, the celebrated art director, Wheelock selected images for the pages of Bazaar by many of history's most recognized photographers, including Richard Avedon, Bill Brandt, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brassaï and Ruth Orkin.
