A carved ivory puzzle-ball and stand
late 19th Century
of sectional form, the large separate puzzle ball carved and pierced to the exterior with dragons among cloud scrolls, above a long narrow central stem with two further smaller puzzle balls similarly carved separated by a pierced cylindrical section, all supported by a standing bearded immortal holding a fan in one hand a foliate spray in the other, above a pierced circular stand carved with further dragons -- 18in. (45.8cm.) high, (damages to one inner ball).
