Lot Essay
Boris Gokarovich Fredman-Cluzel (1875-after 1951) studied sculpture in Stockholm and worked in St. Petersburg and Moscow from 1912, specializing in sculpting well known actors and dancers. In 1907 Fredman-Cluzel was sent by the firm of Fabergé to stay at Sandringham and model the animals on the estate of Edward VII, which were later carved in hardstone in Russia. See T. Fabergé, A.
