A COMPOSITE BROADSWORD
Partly 17th Century
With tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section with a shallow fuller on each side of the forte inscribed 'No Me Saques Sin Rason No Me Enbaines Sin Honor' and etched with scrollwork and martial trophies, iron hilt comprising dish-guard of two overlapping circular plates pierced with keyhole-shaped slots and circular holes, straight quillons, symmetrical arms, plain compressed pommel, and wooden grip originally bound with copper wire (nearly all missing, some surface pitting, mainly on the blade)
