"Sir Timothy (1856-1921) was a statistician who became Agent-General for New South Wales in 1905. He was a friend of Roberts in London. Sir Timothy published a number of books on statistics, including The Wealth and Progress of New South Wales, which appeared almost yearly from 1887; Statistics of the Seven Colonies of Australia 1861-1894 in 1895; Labour and Industry in Australia from the First Settlement in 1788 to the Establishment of the Commonwealth in 1901 in 1918.
He was knighted in 1914 and awarded a KCMG in 1918." (H Topliss, op.cit., p. 194)
