An Edwardian carved mahogany quarter-chiming longcase clock with tubular bells, early 20th century
The hood with swan neck pediment surmounted by an urn, fretwork side panels and fluted columns with Composite capitals, the trunk with bevelled glass panels to the sides and to the astragal glazed front door, with fluted three-quarter columns with Composite capitals to the sides, the plinth with panelled sides and with blind fretwork to the front angles, further panel to the front, with serpentine skirting and raised on carved ball and claw front feet, the 12½in. wide brass dial with gilt-brass foliate and scroll spandrels to a silvered and engraved chapter ring applied with gilt-brass Arabic numerals, foliate scroll engraved centre with subsidiary seconds ring, blued steel hands, the arch with strike/silent and Whittington/Westminster tune selection rings, the three train movement with anchor escapement, quarter chiming on eight tubular bells and with hour strike on further tubular bell -- 94in.
