The mahogany eyeshade surrounding the two viewing apertures, each with a prism on the other side in an oxidised-brass casing and a turning wheel to reorient each one, a third brass turning wheel at the side to bring them closer together or further apart, raised on an adjustable brass column with a circular plinth base
