Lot Essay

The "letter" is addressed and was mailed to Mr. Aitken. It contains therein a cordial message from the carver expressing gratitude to Mr. Aitken for sending a copy of his book "Great Game Animals of the World."
The message reads "Dear Mr. Aitken, your gift arrived and what a surprise it was, especially the portraits and comments on the title page. Many thanks. Your book has been picked up numerous times to enjoy the text, photographs, but most importantly the kinships you have felt toward your subjects-whether they be prey, guide, or fellow hunter. Thanks again for sharing this with me." Grainger McKoy.
