The grip late 17th Century, the blade 18th Century
With curved single-edged blade finely etched and gilt with scrollwork and a boar- and stag-hunting scene on each side, the grip of elephant ivory finely carved in high relief with a lion attacking a horse and with further entwined animals, the later quillons (repaired) of marine ivory carved with animal-heads in relief, with an incomplete associated scabbard with carved ivory mounts
