THREE BRITISH OFFICERS' VICTORIAN SHOULDER-BELT PLATES
The first circa 1890; the second circa 1850; and the third circa 1854
A shoulderbelt-plate of the Cameron Highlanders, mounted with white metal 'hobnail' St. Andrew's Cross and gilt crowned title around white metal crowned thistle with separate sphinx below; a very ornate gilt plate of rococo style, of the 7th (or Royal) Fusiliers, bearing the Rose superimposed on diagonal Garter beneath a Guelphic crown ( a very small section of blue enamel missing from Garter); and a burnished richly-gilt rectangular plate of the Royal Marines (Light Infantry), mounted with large Royal Crest and scrolls bearing battle-honor GIBRALTAR and motto PER MARE PER TERRAM, all three plates mounted together in a glazed frame

The third plate is of a pattern that was introduced only shortly before shoulderbelt plates were abolished for the Royal Marines
