Lot Essay

Elvis and Priscilla Presley signed this house lease agreement just over two months before the birth of their daughter Lisa Marie, the only child they had together, who was born on February 1st, 1968. That year, Elvis's busy shooting schedule with MGM necessitated the Presleys spending a large portion of their time in Los Angeles. He made three films in 1968: Stay Away Joe, Speedway and Live A Little, Love A Little. It was apparently Priscilla Presley who saw an advertisement for this house in Hillcrest Road in the Daily Variety paper. It was a four-bedroom furnished house with a guest cottage, pool and good security in a desirable part of Beverly Hills.
