Qiang Guozhong, sobriquet names Danian and Zhuo'an, was a very able court painter, attaining the position of langzhong. He painted for the Qing court at the same time as Wang Yuanqi and Shufeng, and these three artists sometime collaborated in paintings. For brief biography, see Zhongguo Meishujia Renming Cidian, Shanghai Renmin Meishu Chubanshe, 1981, p.806
