Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry, second half 19th century
The foremost iron slat stamped C-B-DALE CO., the reverse stamped with diamond design patent registration stamp and with No. 171578, the sides with further diamond stamps, with later wood slats, later repainted light green overall

Lot Essay

The design for this seat was registered and patented by the Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry at the Public Record Office on 8th February 1864 and is seat number 36 in their 1875 Coalbrookdale Castings Catalogue, Section III, page 255.
