Trees in a mountainous landscape

This exceptional watercolour of an Alpine landscape by Wilhelmina, Queen of the Netherlands, was possibly executed in the area of Chamonix, which she visited a number times. The queen was an ardent amateur painted, also while travelling.
Wilhelmina belonged to an art circle that occasionally organised charity sales and donated this particular watercolour for such a sale, where it was aqcuired by a family member of the present owner
