The 49 in. (124.5 cm.) long body-tube with a screwed-on plaque for TROUGHTON & SIMMS LONDON, objective dust cap lacking, with star-finder, rack and pinion focusing to the eyepiece extension tube and telescopic support rods, raised via a pair of screws on either side to fit into two bars on the astronomical mounting, the horizontal circle graduated with twice 12 hours, with two pale mahogany-handled adjustment rods and an ivorine key, on a pale mahogany tripod with iron spike-tipped feet
