18th Century
With robust pattern-welded single-edged blade (rust patches), parcel-gilt iron hilt pierced with scrollwork on the outer side, shaped pommel set with a large coral, and wooden grip covered with shagreen (incomplete), in original steel-framed scabbard lined with leather-covered wood, the front and sides with engraved parcel-gilt decoration and with applied convex silver panel pierced and chased with dragons and scrollwork and bearing three large coral buttons, the tip of the scabbard with applied chased silver boss
