PROP GLOBE FROM "FLASH GORDON'S TRIP TO MARS"
Universal, 1938
A very large papier-mache prop globe seen at the end of the movie serial "Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars." A handwritten notation reading Universal Studios Prop Department appears on the top and portions of the 1930s newspapers used to create this piece can be seen on the surface as it is now in somewhat fragile condition due to age. Though dents, paper loss and staining are evident, this is still an important prop associated with a cult classic serial and it was likely used in other early Universal film leaders as well.
Diameter: 36 inches
