Lot Essay

The present watch represents a highly unusual collector's piece as the case, gold-plated, is signed "Case of Pforzheim, RW". There is no mention in literature of such collaboration between Rolex and this particular case maker. However, Rolex of Geneva have confirmed the authenticity of the watch. One can only assume that a very limited quantity of such watches were produced during a very short period of time.
