A Meissen chinoiserie slender beaker and saucer
Circa 1724, Dreher's x to footrim of saucer and gilder's 21. to both
Painted by P.E. Schindler with single chinoiserie figures, one bending down beneath a tree with pendant branches and another in an elaborate hat beside a flowering shrub and grasses, within quatrefoil cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels and gilt and iron-red Laub-und Bandelwerk, the saucer similarly decorated with a figure seated at a table flanked by shrubs and a jar, within a gilt C-scroll and flowerhead border, the underside of the saucer with three concentric iron-red circles, gilt line rims (saucer with some wear to gilding and to one lustre panel, beaker with very slight wear to gilt rim)
