Lot Essay

Lots 133, 134 and 136 are from a small series of traders modelled by Meyer. The figures are not based on the drawings by Hüet, as used by Reinicke for his series, and they are modelled slightly larger than the Cris de Paris Series. See Len and Yvonne Adams, Meissen Portrait Figures (London, 1987), p. 75, col. pl. XXXVIII for a similar lemon-seller.
