No. 11416 for 1851
With 7½in. sighted two-stage barrel with New-York address, cylinder with 'U.S.M.R.' marking and roll-engraved Texas Ranger and Indian scene (worn), brass trigger-guard and grip-strap, oil-stained walnut grips (small chip) with inspector's marks 'JCB' (left side) and 'WAT'? (right side), and matching numbers (iron parts with russet finish and some surface pitting, some wear throughout, some screws replaced)

Lot Essay

Sold with a sworn affidavit of February 1967 stating that the revolver was owned by Mr. John M. Storm of West Monroe, Louisiana, between 1923 and 1967, when he sold it to Mr. James Kiper of the same town, and giving details of its previous history, by tradition back to the American Civil War
