AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A FALCON
Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, 664-30 B.C.
Hollow cast, standing with the talons together, the wings crossed over the tail feathers, the feathering enhanced by incision, the details of the face originally inlaid, standing on an integral plinth, the underside with a square opening for insertion of a now-missing mummy, the opening presumably once sealed in plaster, with a tenon below for insertion into a base
