Lot Essay

The Lawrence was part of the Merrimack fleet, which was usually drawn upon for service on the Florida rivers. The Lawrence was shipped to California and plied the Yuba River, where she was used during the gold rush. Carl D. Lane, American Paddle Steamboats (New York, 1943), p. 24.
