THE FIRST CIRCA 1840, POSSIBLY BRAMPTON, THE SECOND CIRCA 1830
The first in a honey-coloured glaze typically moulded seated wearing a tricorn hat, long open jacket, waistcoat, breeches and buckled shoes, he holds a jug of ale with a strap handle to the reverse on a rectangular canted base (his ale jug cracked, minor flaking to glaze); the treacle glazed Toby moulded as a snuff-taker seated wearing a tricorn hat, open jacket, waistcoat and breeches on a circular base
