A 19th-Century miniature surveyor's sextant,
unsigned, with unnumbered scale -- 7.6cm. (3in.) radius

Mounted on the oxidised-brass frame are the brass arc with inset silver band for the scale (unnumbered), sighting tube, two mirrors and seven shades. The brass radius arm has a silver vernier (unnumbered), magnifier and screw clamp. An ivorine handle is mounted on the reverse of the frame and is secured by two screws and a plate to a lacquered-brass column on a concave triform foot, screwed to a wooden display base.
