An extremely fine exhibition standard 1/4 scale model of a Napoleonic Field Gun/Howitzer of 1857,
built by W. Smith from his own researches, with mahogany carriage with blued mild steel furnishings, mahogany wheels with separate spokes and fellies, bolted-on tyres and metal-bound wooden hubs with brass harness rings, ammunition boxes, elevation jack, portfire cutter, lifting handles, skid pan, vent pricker, portfire sticks, hammer, traverse pole, sponge, rammer and powder ladle, and cannon balls and bronze barrel, finished in blued ferrous metal, polished brightwork and polished mahogany -- 49.5 x 114.5cm. (19½ x 45in.)
