TWO LURISTAN BRONZE MACE HEADS
LATE 2ND/EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
One with octagonal shaft and faceted knobs around the swollen head, flanked by grooved bands; the other similar with rounded knobs, 5¼ in. (13.4 cm.) high max.; another Luristan bronze mace head, the cylindrical shaft with segmented swelling, late 3rd millennium B.C., 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) high; and two Elamite bronze mace heads, one with two registers of prominent spikes alternating with parallel ridges, the other with three rows of spikes above wide flange, both late 3rd millennium B.C., 7 in. (17.7 cm.) high max. (5)
