Lot Essay

Optat Milet, a French ceramic modeller and decorator was employed at the Sèvres factory (1862-79). He established his own studio in 1875 or 1877 and was associated with Massier, including exhibiting works in Vallauris as early as 1878. He was known for his experimental glazes including titanium yellow and crystalline.
